2023 PINOT GRIGIO, Columbia Valley
ANJOLA
From our Estate grown grapes, we offer this 2022 Pinot Grigio. We prefer to address our white wine Grigio as we make it in the Italian style a little different from the numeropus Pinot Gris you will find in our faboulus North West. Our 2022 Pinot Grigio has a brilliant golden straw in color, with notes of green apples, melon and citrus to the nose as well as on the palate. A luscious viscosity in the mid palate, clean minerality and a delicious acid bone will carry this wine to a delicious finale. A quaffable summer wine on its own as an aperitif, it also has enough acidity to pair well with various foods. Enjoy it over the coming eighteen months as a compliment to grilled halibut, cedar plank salmon, zucchini frittata, grilled vegetables or my favorite herb roasted chicken.
2021 ‘SOLIMANO’ UVAGGIO, Columbia Valley
SOLIMANO
People ask what is my favorite wine is all the time, and I’m always hesitant to respond as Ilike them all. But this is the wine I bring to a friend house, when invited over. This is a very important wine for this winery as it is a blend of Nebbiolo, the most prominent grape varietal of Piemonte, Italy and Pinot Noir, the most cultivated grape variety in Oregon a blend of Old and New word. Our Nebbiolo was sources in south WA and the Pinot Noir came from our vines grown here at Marchesi Vineyards. Has good concentration of fruit on the nose with refined aromas of cherries and herbal notes. Sophisticated on the palate with hints of spice, elegance and harmony will lead to a sweet finish.
2022 ‘BRIC’ UVAGGIO,Columbia Valley
BRIC
Bric means the most suited area of a vineyard, the sunniest spot. This wine is the result of an equal parts of Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes. We have the best of both worlds here. The elegance and finesse of the Nebbiolo we sourced in south WA, accented by zesty acidity and color from our estate grown Barbera. Our 2022 Bric differs from past vintages as it shows more Nebbiolo character than the Barbera. Barbera adds cherry flavors to the Nebbiolo distinctive strawberry flavors, but the noticeable acidity ensure a fresh and harmonious structure. Enjoy it with stews, anything with mushrooms and polenta.
2022 BARBERA, Columbia Valley
ACHILLE
At Marchesi Vineyards, we LOVE our Barbera. It is our signature wine and reminds me of my home in Piedmont, Italy. Appropriately named Achille, after my maternal grandfather who was a fan of Barbera. Deep ruby red color with a rich and complex balance of violets, wild berries and ripe black cherries on the nose. On the palate, crisp and dry, with a pleasant backbone of acidity that carries to the elegant finish. This wine is a most friendly food companion. From red sauce pasta to stews, this wine will not disappoint any meal.
2022 ‘PACE’ UVAGGIO RISERVA, Columbia Valley
PACE
Pace (peace in Italian) A delicious blend crafted especially for the fall wine club release, composed of Primitivo, Zinfandel and Petite Syrah grapes. Big, smooth and polished. Ripe and complex. Plum and luscious, on the palate it offers dark element of coffee, chocolate and blackberry. Lively acidity carries the wine to the beautiful finish. Enjoy it with your favorite burger, poultry, pork, and stews featuring mushrooms, brasato con funghi; polenta……….
